Vendor Mailing Error Prompts Corrective Action by Volusia County Elections Office

Volusia County, FL – The Volusia County Supervisor of Elections office has identified a vendor error that resulted in some voters receiving incorrect vote-by-mail ballots for the November 3, 2026 General Election.

Based on information available so far, the issue appears to be limited to a single mailing associated with an October 7 delivery date in the office’s voter registration system. Approximately 350 ballots have been affected. In each case identified to date, the voter received a ballot containing contests for another city.

“I am deeply upset that this vendor’s error has affected our voters. They deserve better,” said Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis. “We take this matter very seriously and are taking every available action to correct it as quickly as possible. We will hold the vendor responsible for this error and are exploring all available options to do so.”

The office is investigating the extent of the issue and will be sending replacement ballots to affected voters tomorrow.

Voters who believe they received an incorrect ballot should contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at 386-736-5930 so staff can review their ballot information and assist them with the next steps. Voters also have the options to vote in person during Early Voting or on Election Day.

Early Voting is available daily through October 31 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., at nine locations throughout Volusia County. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters choosing to vote on Election Day must go to their assigned polling place.

“To every voter affected, I am truly sorry for the frustration and concern this has caused,” said Lewis. “You should be able to rely on receiving the correct ballot, and I understand how upsetting it is when that does not happen. Please know that our team is here to help you, and we are working urgently to make this right.”
